MILLER PLACE
For the second year in a row, Napper Tandy?s hosted a raffle to help raise money for the Miller Place Robotics Team 514.The team raffled off an autographed New York Jets football, donated by Symbio, a family owned business of Rich and Rose Panico of Miller Place. Parents sold the tickets in their lobby during Jets games and the raffle was held at halftime during the Super Bowl.
PORT JEFFERSON
A new 55-and-over town house community in Port Jefferson has opened its models and has already gone to contract on 20 of its 43 units.
According to real estate agent Dennis P. Consalvo, the Village Vistas community is the only one of its kind in the village.
"Most of the people who are buying are residents of Port Jefferson and surrounding areas," he said. "For everybody that's selling and downsizing in Port Jefferson and Belle Terre and wants to stay on Long Island, this is a great community."
KINGS PARK
Gigi?s Charm, a web-based business that specializes in handmade, custom slide charm bracelets is bringing the bling for St. Patrick's Day with their Irish inspired bracelets.
THREE VILLAGE
It's all about bringing the best of Manhattan back to Long Island. That's according to Michelle Mancuso, owner of the East Setauket-based interior design company Samantha Drew Interiors, which announced the opening of up a "pop up studio" on New York City's Madison Avenue the first week of February.
SMITHTOWN
Kings Park and Commack residents have won the latest fight in their ongoing battle to get heavy industry out of their backyards.
Smithtown's Board of Zoning Appeals voted to deny KPE II a certificate of existing use that would legalize its pre-cast concrete business off Old Northport Road and Lawrence Road in Kings Park on Feb. 12.
