Wood Flooring ? General Guideline for Adapting | Home ...

Parquet is popular among homeowners and commercial businesses because of its durability and elegant effect. They are composed of two or more layers of wood glued together is covered with hard wood. These components can withstand high humidity and has a longer lifetime than solid wood flooring. Like all stories, is the key to resilience quality of fitting.

The most common method is suitable for floating method. This is determined by a writing on the existing floor, and binding of the tongue and groove with PVA wood glue. Thus, all new floor suspended over the original bottom.

In the method for driving a substrate, the contact between the floor and the substrate can take place. For the purposes of an echo occurring in the space between the two floors means. The carrier is generally in various forms, and is dependent on the thickness and quality. The simplest is the range of 3 mm foam is generally recommended flooring. Fibreboard is not advisable to use real wood flooring because it causes too much movement.

In the meantime, other documents are still precious wood floor and the extent to Excel, the same function in the delivery of sound and adds cushion on the floor. They are particularly suited for use in homes and apartments where minimal noise is essential.

Apparently the multi-adhesive backing from a majority of the homeowners accepted as the most user friendly method to support the establishment, because it is a sticky side support, which automatically puts on the new floor from the ground and hold him. On the other hand. The disadvantage of using a floating floor method, where the presence of a small degree of motion or reduced in certain parts of the earth This is normal if they do not hang with the subfloor. The solution is to break down the floor and further support for the substrate, so that the solid.

When installing a suspended floor expansion joints that are necessary for the tree reacts with moisture and wetness. In general, be about 15 mm space for expansion joints, and will be concealed by the skirting board.

Parquet floors can also be linked directly to the floor or nailed on an existing wooden floor. The engineered thicker plates (18 to 22 mm thick) can be directly riveted to the beam, because they are structurally plates. Amy Winehouse's Family To Share Her $4.6 Million Estate

Because Winehouse did not leave a will, the money will go to her parents.

Amy Winehouse did not prepare a will before she died
on July 23 in her London apartment. But records show that the 27-year-old singer did leave behind a nearly $5 million fortune.

According to the Associated Press, Winehouse's estate, worth approximately $4.66 million, will go to her parents. Probate documents revealed on Wednesday showed that Winehouse left assets totaling more than $6.7 million, with $4.66 remaining after taxes and debts. Winehouse's father, Mitch, is listed as the administrator of her estate and nothing will go to her ex-husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, whom she divorced in 2009 after a tumultuous courtship that landed the couple in the tabloids, and jail, on numerous occasions.

The singer passed last summer from accidental alcohol poisoning after years of struggling with drug and alcohol issues. In March it was announced that the charity established by Mitch Winehouse in his daughter's honor, the Amy Winehouse Foundation, would fund a new performing arts scholarship. The grant will pay tuition for a child to attend the Sylvia Young Theatre School, where Amy trained as a teenager.

An album of Winehouse's final studio recordings, Lioness: Hidden Treasures, was released in December.

Music at Mars Hill: Who Are the Tastemakers Today? | Christ and ...

Music at Mars Hill?is a weekly column by Luke Larsen that seeks to find God amidst the newest trends in both mainstream music and independent music.

There is a lot of talk these days about how digital media and social networking is changing the music industry. Streaming services like Spotify are taking the center stage in terms of mass music distribution, and the result is that music is being made and listened to differently. However, defining who the tastemakers are in our emerging? online culture is difficult.?At one point, the tastemakers in our culture were the entertainment distribution giants ? the executives working for distribution companies and record labels. Art and entertainment was filtered through these corporations and handed down to us, and the public had very little say in the matter.

But who are the tastemakers of today?s Internet culture? The answer isn?t straightforward.

Some will argue that online publications like Pitchfork and Spin have taken the spot as the tastemakers in the music industry. A huge amount of value is put into how well music critics receive albums ? so much so that artists? entire careers can be built or shattered on a single article and a single numerical rating. I?ve seen it happen time and time again, so I can see why people think this.

Others will argue their own friends are the tastemakers in today?s culture. Through easy music sharing such as Spotify, Rdio, and This Is My New Jam, it?s easier than ever to check out what your friends are listening to. This is especially true for people who don?t have the time or energy to scour blogs and music publications for the newest music. As more and more of our lives and personal interactions move online, this idea seems simple enough.

However, I?m not quite convinced that either of these really take the cake as the definitive tastemakers in music culture today. As a simple case study, let?s take a look at the song ?Somebody That I Used to Know? by the Australian indie pop band Gotye. The song started out as a hit in Australia last year with indie music publications picking it up as well. It also bounced around quite a bit in the blogosphere and found some attention there. But now, the song is #5 on Billboard Hot 100 charts here in America ? what happened? Did the record labels push it hard into mainstream radio stations? Did Pitchfork give it a 9.5?

The answer is, in fact, no. To the contrary, Gotye?s album Making Mirrors surprisingly didn?t get very much attention at all in terms of music critics and publications covering it. Somehow it defied all logic and gained popularity without these props. My theory is that something much more grassroots took place in the life of this song. Chances are you?ve seen the following video, as people watched it over 80 million times and spread it across Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube like wildfire earlier this year:

This cover by Walk Off the Earth features five musicians playing one guitar and singing the different parts of the song together ? a unique take on the already fantastic song. But this video hit the Web faster and quicker than even the original song it was covering. In fact, I know a number of people who heard the cover much earlier than they heard the original. All this really begs a question that might not currently have an answer: Who are the influencers today? Who is in charge of our culture and who?s word is actually worth something?

In all honesty, it seems more and more that influencers and tastemakers can be just about anyone with an Internet connection. We have an increasing amount of say in our culture no matter where we are in the progress of the life of a song. Whether we are musicians, producers, record label execs, journalists, critics, bloggers, avid music fans, or just the casual passerby, digital media and social networking have enabled us all to have a voice in what our culture is made up of. It?s now up to us to determine what we will choose to do with this new-found sense of ownership, entitlement, and responsibility.

What To Do When You're Lacking Inspiration | Self Improvement ...

Like most of my purchasers, you might be searching for methods to ramp-up your inspirational leadership. I?ll inform you what I tell them: you can?t be an inspirational chief until you are an inspired person. But are you always inspired? And are you aware what to do whenever you?re missing inspiration?

?Inspiration? of an individual means to infuse that person with a ?spirit.? That is why the word is primarily used in religious, or religious, contexts. And that is as it should be. Again at the office, then, why do my clients preserve listening to that they should ?encourage? their people extra? What does spirituality, and even God, have to do with making my unit?s quarterly numbers? Personally, I feel it is as a result of times are very tough, and people are beginning to realize that their non secular well being drives their earthly performance. Even if they don?t seem to be ?churchy? folks, they want what impressed individuals have. They need to be pushed by that ?spirit,? whether or not they recognize it as Heavenly, or as a easy spirit to carry out, to realize, to assist, or to lead.

The primary source for ?inspiration? in business is to focus on ?Why.? Why do you do what you do? Why?d you choose that profession, that industry, that company? Why did you resolve to start your personal business? Figure out ?Why,? and you will find inspiration fairly quickly. I am a former journalist, and so they trained us in journalism school to look at the Ws ? Who, What, When, The place, and (of course) Why. (They also threw in How, and constantly lamented the truth that word didn?t start with W.) Should you?re combating what to do while you?re lacking inspiration, attempt these different ?Ws? and see if they do not level back to ?Why.?
Who: Who are you aware who?s bought that ?custom logo polo shirts? you?re on the lookout for? You won?t be able to tell by looking, however as you get to know a person, you possibly can usually see what?s driving them. So one nice technique is to look for sturdy function fashions, or mentors, and spend time enthusiastic about why they do what THEY do.

What: Do you?re keen on what you do? Quite a lot of my clients? journeys to inspiration get snarled proper here. ?I just don?t discover the work inspiring,? they complain. And there?s a variety of that going around ? not all work is inspiring, particularly in tough times. But consider this: does your work have to be the only source of your inspiration? Take into consideration what that work means that you can do in your life, and what future you?re building for yourself by way of that work. And do not forget to look for what IS inspiring in your work? it might probably?t all be drudgery. Keep in mind how excited you have been to land that job, or to open what you are promoting? doors?

When: Replicate on the instances in your life while you?ve been most inspired. It?d even have been throughout other powerful occasions, when it took all of your appreciable expertise simply to get by. However had been you cheerful, and excited about the future? What made you that method? The answer?s totally different for everyone, so turn some consideration to figuring out what turned you on then? and also you would possibly discover you are able to replicate these circumstances now.

Where: Individuals are impressed by places? it is all the time been true. Should you stay near the mountains, climb one. When you dwell close to the ocean, hit the beach. Even in the middle of a huge city, go to the highest of a tall constructing and rejoice in the view. I spend a couple of minutes each day watching the sunset (especially at our Colorado house), and drawing inspiration from the place and time. Do whatever it takes to spend somewhat daily time simply having fun with the second, and speaking with what may inspire you.

How: Lastly, the sensible advantages of merely with the ability to master something can inspire you. The practical side of your mind may be blocking your skill to be impressed by what you may accomplish simply because it doesn?t understand how you are going to accomplish it. ?How? is an effective place to search for inspiration, however a good higher place to root out what may be blocking your inspiration. Are you worried, or anxious? I?ve mentioned earlier than that the one prescription for worry is action? so when you?re uninspired, perhaps you must begin by simply DOING something. Create a process, then work on enhancing it every day. You would possibly find that inspiration follows even such seemingly-mundane activity.

Inspiration is tricky, and it comes and goes. Nevertheless it isn?t impossible to find it, and to construct on it in your life and work. Take into consideration the ?journalist?s method? to what to do once you?re lacking inspiration. Use Who, What, When, The place and The best way to discover Why? and also you?re more likely to bump into inspiration along the way.

Product Creation And Social Media ? Profitable Tactics Revealed ...

If product creation was the ideal business model for everyone, more online marketers would create their own products. There?s little doubt that affiliate marketing is more appealing to most people who want to make money online. So many people are intimidated by the idea of creating a product, though it?s not as complicated as they fear. So we will never push you to do one or the other because it is a personal decision based on personal feelings and preferences. In this article we?ll be looking at both the positive and negative aspects of product creation. If escalating CRM Dynamics is something that appeals to you within your net enterprise, then be extremely positive you get all of the facts about it prior to a complete campaign. A single from the most simple prerequisites for profitable conversions is according to understanding of those to whom you might be selling. Additionally to realizing the best way to talk to your market place, you are going to comprehend their requirements from a advertising and marketing perspective. It is truly extremely basic to determine how much much more you?ll be able to get done and how much far better it will make all of your enterprise efforts. You?ll need to be understood by your niche market place, and that signifies you might be the a single who has to learn the best way to speak with them. It is extremely clear which you need to give folks a opportunity to embrace your messages but only after you make a connection.

The concept of product creation can be versatile in nature, and can also help you accomplish the things you desire to do. So what you will need to do is perform a lot of solid research for this product. A good product idea might be entitled "101 ways to" and then add the content from that point on. It is easy to change this up. You could try out "75 ways" or "250 ways" ? you get the picture. So do this for several niches you like, and then go to Facebook and make pages for each niche with this kind of product. You can do the generation and add content as well. If it is a competitive market, you won?t have to go up against established businesses by using this particular strategy.

There?s always more than one way to look at an issue, which is why some people think product creation is great while others consider it a hassle. Before you get involved in creating your own products, you have to decide how much responsibility you?re willing to take on. No one else is there to tell you what to do, so if you?re going to be a product creator you have to be ready to take full responsibility for everything. Of course, this means you?re free to create and market your product any way you see fit. Yet, from another point of view, this just means more work and hours to put in. It?s entirely up to you how you look at this, but either way you should be aware of what?s involved with product creation. The net is certainly a various kind of spot to market place, advertise and normally do enterprise. Dynamic is often employed to describe carrying out enterprise online and at times fluid is mention, too. So just remember that the climate can turn into extremely various, and you?ll need to adjust to it the top you?ll be able to. Hopefully you will discover our discussion on the merits of uk carbon trading as something that could be simply integrated with your present techniques. If you analyze anything new for possible inclusion within your advertising and marketing arsenal, you need to be fully objective.

However, there will be occasions when you just need to be bold, and also remember that just about every thing in enterprise has an element of threat with it.

{One way to make a product very quickly is to combine several products together into something brand-new. Like the strategy we just discussed, you are improving upon multiple products, not just one. Combining two products, or even 20 products, is viable ? you just have to make sure they are all referencing the same thing. The product, obviously, has to make sense which means as people read it, or watch it, it flows from one section to the next without any problems. Be sure there is a demand for the product you are creating. Your product should never be pushed on people. They will either like it or they won?t. The public must have a craving for this type of material. If that desire or need is there, you can fulfill it.|Changing or upgrading the format of your product is another way you can update it and add value. If you want a new video package added to your product, simply shoot videos and add DVDs as part of the update. There are many things you can do. Although you?re just adding more information, the DVDs, along with transcripts of the videos, increases the value of the package exponentially. You can use the transcripts as a selling point because many people like to read and watch videos at the same time. A companion product could also be MP3s, and audio form of the transcripts themselves. Once you know what you have to work with, you can think about what to do next. To approach a broader base of potential clients, these bonuses will definitely open up that door.|If you can find a market that is desperate for certain information, this can be very profitable for you. This product idea still builds on the theme of making a product that explains many ways to do something ? the mega list product. In this product, you can be very specific, targeting individual marketers and small businesses on the Internet. For example, you can choose a hot topic like website usability. You could be very specific with your title saying "97 Ways to Profit with Your Website Everyday" ? you get the picture. But you really should only go with topics that are very important to businesses to make this work out.|All people want to avoid fear and danger. It is an innate powerful emotion that all of us feel and want to avoid. Developing a theme for your niche product should always be based around avoiding these carnal fears. When you do this, you can show people how to avoid danger and minimize their fear. Regardless of the topic or theme, you can approach many niches with this particular format. With some solid research into the market and then the subject, you can create a very good info product. Something like this will also work well as a physical product such as DVDs.|{One really cool part about having your own products or services is you have more opportunities to make money.|When you create your own products, you have many differen

Presbyterian Court Weighs Property Battle in California

A Presbyterian court, in a case with implications for dozens of congregations exiting a denomination divided over homosexuality, convened on Thursday to decide if a California parish may break away with property worth millions of dollars.

Testimony began before the Synod of the Pacific, consisting of ministers and church elders from throughout the West, on a case stemming from a decision by the Community Presbyterian Church of Danville, an affluent San Francisco suburb, to join a more conservative denomination.

A San Francisco-area church governing body agreed in 2010 to allow the Danville congregation to keep real estate that had been appraised at nearly $14 million after its parishioners voted to split from the mainline Presbyterian Church U.S.A.

Critics of the move, however, have argued that the regional governing body lacked authority to approve the property transfer.

"We are here today because we believe the Presbytery of San Francisco has made an unauthorized gift of property," Joan Blackstone, a retired lawyer and church elder who represents opponents of the property transfer, said in opening statements.

Thursday's trial highlights deep divisions within the parent church and its 2 million members, as well as other mainstream Protestant denominations, over the ordination of gay clergy and blessing of same-sex unions.

Although it does not allow ministers to perform same-sex marriages, the Presbyterian Church allows its ministers to bless gay unions.

The synod's trial, held in a hotel banquet room near the San Francisco Airport, will decide whether the presbytery properly used the church's so-called "gracious-dismissal" policy to allow the Danville parish to leave with its buildings and more than 7 acres of land held in trust for the Presbyterian Church U.S.A.

The committee of local ministers "considered, prayed about it and decided the buildings should continue to be used by the Danville congregation as they continue to do God's work," the Rev. Joan Huff, a San Francisco minister who represents the presbytery, told the tribunal. "Grace is not always fair. Grace cannot be monetized. It cannot be bought, earned or won."

"It if could, it would cease to be grace," she said.

Blackstone urged the 10 commissioners hearing the case to consider the impact of their decision on church groups throughout the nation struggling with how to divide property.

OPENED CLERGY TO HOMOSEXUALS

The Presbyterian Church U.S.A. formally opened the ranks of its clergy to homosexuals last spring in a move that triggered a schism, prompting some opposed to gay clergy to form a new denomination, the Evangelical Covenant Order of Presbyterians.

The Presbyterian Church's pension board further alienated some conservative congregants this month by approving benefits for same-gender partners and their children starting next year.

Upset over differences in biblical interpretation of social issues, including questions of gay life and abortion, the Danville congregation began separating from the parent church in 2010.

They want to join yet another offshoot denomination, the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. That church believes "unrepentant homosexual behavior is incompatible with the ordination vows."

"This case is going to establish a precedent of sorts in the minds of people in this denomination," Blackstone said in her opening trial statement. "It's going to be considered by congregations as they request to be dismissed."

The Kentucky-based denomination has endured other splits in its history, including schisms over slavery and the ordination of women. But the Rev. Gradye Parsons, the highest-ranking official in the church general assembly, said some congregations that have left the fold during the past 20 years have rejoined.

"I think it's sad that people are leaving," he said. "I see it more as a separation than a divorce and hope someday we can be reconciled."

The Danville church, founded in 1865, consists of about 1,800 members.

The Rev. Scott Farmer, the church's senior pastor, served on a task force charged with writing the "gracious-dismissal" policy, Blackstone said. She questioned whether Farmer had a conflict of interest when the Danville church was the first to ask to be dismissed under the policy.

Farmer could not be reached for comment.

A website for the Presbyterian Lay Committee, a conservative advocacy group, listed 35 congregations that had started the process of separating from the denomination since July. The First Presbyterian Church in Colorado Springs, with more than 4,000 members, is the largest to take part in the exodus.

The synod is expected to issue a written decision next week.

Pope arrives in Mexico, denouncing violence

LEON, Mexico (AP) ? Pope Benedict XVI landed in Mexico on Friday to throngs of faithful who gathered at the tarmac and lined more than 20 miles of his route into the city shouting the ultimate welcome: "Benedict, brother, you are now Mexican."

Many thought such a warm reception, complete with folkloric dance and mariachis, would not greet a pope some consider distant and academic. But the world's largest Roman Catholic, Spanish-speaking country showed Benedict the affection they had for this predecessor, John Paul II, who was dubbed "Mexico's pope" after making five trips to the country.

"This is a proud country of hospitality, and nobody feels like a stranger in your land," the pope said upon landing to wild cheers. "I knew that, now I see it and now I feel it in my heart."

After his Alitalia flight landed, the streets of Leon where the pope will stay took on a carnival atmosphere, with entire blocks exploding in yellow confetti as he passed in his bulletproof popemobile along the 20-mile (32-kilomter) route from the airport.

"He came to change all Mexicans," said Maria del Rosario Tamayo Villanueva, who waited to see the pope despite being paralyzed in both legs since childhood. "It was important to come to see him. He is a gift from God."

From the time the pontiff boarded his plane in Rome, he took on the subject of Mexican drug war violence that has killed more than 47,000 people in the last six years, saying it is "destroying humanity and our youth."

Benedict called on Mexicans to conquer a materialistic culture that feeds drug trafficking and said the church can be a healing force.

"The great responsibility of the church is to educate the conscience, teach moral responsibility and strip off the mask (from) the idolatry of money that enslaves mankind, and unmask the false promise, this lie that is behind" the drug culture, he said.

He also urged Cuba, where he heads on Monday, to leave behind a Marxism that "no longer responds to reality."

Benedict has spoken out before against drug trafficking, Marxism and authoritarianism in Latin America, including during his 2007 trip to Brazil, his first to the region.

On Friday Mexican President Felipe Calderon and first lady Margarita Zavala greeted the pope at the Guanajuato International Airport in Silao and escorted him along a red carpet amid a clanging of church bells.

Benedict descended the stairs without the cane he had used when he walked to the plane in Rome, the first time he had walked with it in public.

In a tarmac speech, Benedict referred again to the everyday violence that ordinary Mexicans confront, saying he was praying for all in need "particularly those who suffer because of old and new rivalries, resentments and all forms of violence."

He said he was coming to Mexico as a pilgrim of hope, to encourage Mexicans to "transform the present structures and events which are less than satisfactory and seem immovable or insurmountable while also helping those who do not see meaning or a future in life."

Calderon greeted the pontiff by saying, "Your visit fills us with joy in moments of great tribulation."

Some like 42-year-old housewife Celia del Rosario Escobar said she had high hopes that Benedict would help turn around a society devastated by the drug trade and the brutal violence related to it.

"I would like that he changes the conscience of those people who are doing harm to Mexico with everything involved in drug addiction, in the mafia," Escobar said. "I hope that we have more respect for life."

Many see the pope's Latin America trip as a way to strengthen the faithful in a region where Catholicism has dropped over the decades, though not as dramatically as in Europe and elsewhere.

"One sees in Latin America and also elsewhere, not a few Catholics who have a schizophrenia between individual and public morality," the pope said earlier on the plane. "These individuals are Catholic, believers, but in their public lives they follow other paths that don't correspond to the great values of the Gospel ... so we must teach not just in individual morals but public morals."

Benedict acknowledged the historic nature of John Paul's first trip to Mexico ? the first by any pope. The 1979 visit, just months after being elected pope and his first foreign trip, came at a time in which Mexico's anti-religion laws were so restrictive that John Paul was technically breaking the law by wearing clerical garb in public.

John Paul also made a historic visit to Cuba in 1998, where upon his arrival in Havana he pronounced the now-famous words: "May Cuba, with all its magnificent potential, open itself up to the world, and may the world open itself up to Cuba."

Benedict told reporters those words remain true even today, and that John Paul's visit had launched a path of "collaboration and constructive dialogue" in Cuba that continues, albeit slowly.

"I can't talk," she said as she brought both hands to her chest and cried.

In Mexico, Benedict said, violence is destroying the nation's young.

It is a message that Enrique Abundes, one of thousands lining the papal route, was waiting to hear. The 46-year-old shoe-factory worker and father of five said he believed Benedict would inspire Mexicans to keep their children away from the temptations of organized crime.

"The pope's visit to our city will call attention to the violence and, for us, to be good examples to our children," he said.

The weeklong trip to Mexico and Cuba, Benedict's first to both countries, will be a test of stamina for the pope, who turns 85 next month. At the airport on Friday in Rome, the pope used a cane, apparently for the first time in public, as he walked about 100 yards (meters) to the airliner's steps.

Papal aides, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Benedict has been using the cane in private for about two months because it makes him feel more secure, not for any medical reason. Last fall, Benedict started using a wheeled platform to navigate the vast spaces of St. Peter's Basilica during ceremonies. The Vatican has said that device was employed to help the pope save his energy.

Many businesses and schools had closed for the day in Leon, and thousands of people were traveling in on buses from across the country. But the city was still not at full capacity on Friday.

Still about 30 percent of the city's 6,000 hotel rooms were still empty, said Fabiola Vera, president of the Association of Hotels and Motels of Leon. She said people may have been discouraged by rumors that there weren't enough rooms.

The main campground in Leon, meant for tens of thousands of pilgrims, remained empty earlier in the day.

Church officials say as many as 300,000 people are expected for Sunday's Mass.

"We greeted him with much affection and love because he is the messenger of peace," said Antonio Alcaraz, 40, director of a public school. "His visit through his message, will improve our social problems."

China's rise driving Hollywood interest in Asia

HONG KONG (AP) ? China's economic rise and growing international profile are spurring Hollywood's interest in movies using Asian themes and production money, U.S. movie industry veterans said Tuesday.

Big studios are trying to push further into China, where box office receipts rose more than a third last year to $2 billion. China represents one of the most attractive growth opportunities for the U.S. movie industry, which is facing declining North American theater revenue and slumping DVD sales.

For the last decade, China has allowed only 20 foreign films a year ? mostly big-budget Hollywood fare ? to get national distribution. But it opened the door a little more last month when it changed the rules to allow in up to 14 more films a year as long as they are made in 3-D or for the big-screen Imax format. The foreign share of ticket sales will rise to 25 percent, up from 13.5 percent to 17.5 percent under the old system.

"I know studio executives and even chairmen of studios who've never been to China, who are now saying: I need to go, I need to meet people," said Hollywood producer Tracey Trench.

At its current growth rate, China is expected to become the world's 2nd largest movie market in a few years, with box office takings projected to top $5 billion by 2015. In North America, revenue has fallen for two years straight, and ended 2011 with $10.2 billion in ticket sales.

Glenn Berger, the screenwriter of the "Kung Fu Panda" movies, said that China is a trendy theme now.

"Hollywood needs to tell the same story in new and unusual ways and right now China is hot, it's interesting and most people in the West don't know very much about it," Berger said.

"Kung Fu Panda 2," about a cartoon panda named Po who battles a peacock villain, raked in $665 million at the box office last year, although only $165 million of that was from U.S. moviegoers.

Trench and Berger spoke at a panel at the Hong Kong International Film and Television Market, or Filmart. The entertainment industry trade show is one Asia's biggest, with 640 exhibitors ? 10 percent more than last year ? hoping to sell their films to 5,200 buyers expected from around the world.

Asia's growing wealth is one big draw for Hollywood studios who are looking for ways to keep costs down, especially on big-budget blockbusters, said Trench, who was executive producer of "The Pink Panther," ''Just Married," and "Ever After."

"You already know it's costing you a ton of money, so you try to figure out every way possible to hedge that financial risk," including getting co-production money and rebates and shooting in cheaper locations, said Trench. "This region now plays into a lot of those factors."

Hollywood studios have been busy teaming up with Chinese production companies.

DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc., which produced "Kung Fu Panda," said in February it's tying up with three Chinese companies on a joint venture entertainment company that will make Chinese animated and live action content. Dreamworks will have a 45 percent stake in the venture, which is expected to begin operations in Shanghai later this year.

Legendary Entertainment, producer of hits including "The Dark Knight," ''Inception" and the two "Hangover" installments, partnered with leading Chinese studio Huayi Brothers Media Corp. in June to form Legendary East. The venture plans one or two big budget movies a year starting in 2013 for global audiences that are also commercially viable in China. The films will be mainly in English and feature themes based on Chinese history, mythology or culture.

Another Hollywood studio, Relativity Media, said last year it's partnering with two companies to make Chinese films for global audiences and distribute movies in China.

While English is usually the preferred language for Asian-themed movies aimed at international audiences, that could change in the next decade as America's grip on the title of world's biggest movie market weakens, Trench predicted.

"There's a time right now that all of the studios, if they're going to do movies with Asian elements, they're going to be in English," she said. "But that's not going to be forever."

(AP) ? A motorcycle gunman opened fire Monday in front of a Jewish school in the French city of Toulouse, killing a rabbi, his two young sons and a schoolgirl, the prosecutor's office said. It was the third deadly motorcycle shooting in the same area in recent days.

French prosecutors were studying possible terrorist links but the motive for the attack was unclear. The attack shocked the country and prompted strong emotions and high-level discussions in Israel.

Concerns emerged about a possible serial killer with racist motivations, as investigators examined whether the attack was linked to two other shooting attacks in the Toulouse region that killed three French paratroopers and left another seriously injured.

Religious minorities and issues of race have emerged as a prominent issue in France's current presidential campaign. The paratroopers killed and injured were of North African and French Caribbean origin, and the targets Monday were Jewish.

President Nicolas Sarkozy rushed to the school, denouncing "the savagery" of the attack and vowing to track down the killer or killers.

"We will find him," he said.

Sarkozy ordered increased security at Jewish and Muslim buildings around Toulouse, while his prime minister told officials to "secure" all school and religious buildings in the entire country.

Sarkozy's challengers for the presidential vote in April and May also rushed to the scene.

In each of the three attacks, the same large caliber bullet ? 11.43 ? was used, a police official said. He was not authorized to speak publicly and asked not to be identified.

A 30-year-old rabbi and his 3-year-old and 6-year-old sons were killed Monday just before classes started at the Ozar Hatorah school, a junior high and high school in a quiet residential neighborhood, Toulouse Prosecutor Michel Valet said.

Another child, the 8-year-old daughter of the school principal, was also killed, school officials said. Valet said a 17-year-old boy was also seriously wounded and in the operating ward of a city hospital.

"He shot at everything he had in front of him, children and adults," Valet said. "The children were chased inside the school."

The slain rabbi was Johnathan Sandler, who taught Yiddish at the school, according to another teacher, Uriel Torjmane. Sandler arrived here from Jerusalem last September with his wife and children, according to Zionist activist Charlotte Elbaz.

France has the largest Jewish community in Western Europe, estimated at about 500,000, as well as its largest Muslim population, about 5 million.

Toulouse, a southwestern city north of the Pyrenees, has about 10,000 to 15,000 Jews in its overall population of 440,000, said Jean-Paul Amoyelle, the president of the Ozar Hatorah school network in France. He said the Toulouse Jewish community is well integrated.

The school targeted Monday, behind a high white wall with few external markings, was cordoned off by police, who then escorted other children out as forensics police combed the scene.

One officer held a distraught girl, her face in her hands. A mother and son wearing a yarmulke walked away from the site, their faces visibly pained. A video camera was visible at the school's entrance.

"The drama occurred a bit before 8 a.m. A man arrived in front of the school on a motorcycle or scooter," Valet said, adding that the man got off his scooter outside the school and opened fire.

"Everything leads one to believe that these were racist and anti-Semitic acts," Toulouse Mayor Pierre Cohen said on BFM-TV.

Interior Ministry spokesman Pierre-Henry Brandet told The Associated Press that the suspect made his getaway on a dark-colored scooter ? just as the assailant or assailants did in the two shootings last week.

On March 10, a gunman on a motorbike shot and killed a paratrooper in Toulouse. Last Thursday, a gunman on a motorbike opened fire on three uniformed paratroopers at a bank machine in Montauban, about 50 kilometers (30 miles) from Toulouse, killing two and critically wounding the other.

The Paris prosecutor's office said it will investigate eventual terrorist links to Monday's killing and the two killings of paratroopers last week.

A man who lives near the school said he spoke with the slain rabbi just before he was killed.

"I said "Bonjour" to him like normal," said the 29-year-old, asking to be identified only by his first name, Baroukh. "Then he went out into the school entrance. I heard the shots and I turned around and saw him on the ground. He looked dead. But I didn't have much time to see who did it because I panicked and started running away."

Sarkozy visited the school accompanied by Richard Prasquier, the president of CRIF, the umbrella group representing Jewish organizations.

"It's a day of national tragedy," Sarkozy said. "The barbary, the savagery, the cruelty cannot win. Hate cannot win. The nation is much stronger."

In Jerusalem, Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak said "whether it was a terror attack or a hate crime, the loss of life is unacceptable."

Einat Wilf, an Israeli legislator from the Independence Party, said legislators were being briefed on the shooting.

Special prayers were being offered Monday at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris and a minute of silence in all French schools was to be held Tuesday. A carnival in Toulouse was canceled and vigils were planned in Toulouse and Paris to honor the victims.
