VPV Interactive has had the privilege of working with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society on its Man & Woman Of The Year events throughout the year. Last night marked the culmination and celebration of all 13 MWOY candidates fundraising efforts with the 2012 Grand Finale Gala. New York?s Capitale served as the perfect backdrop for an evening dedicated to the fight against cancer.
This fabulous event allowed us the opportunity to hear the stories and inspiration behind these candidates decision to run for Man or Woman of the Year, and the passion in the room was palpable. Many of the candidates stated that these past 10 weeks have been hard, but the love and support they?received?from friends and family has been astonishing.
Kudos to this year?s Man of the Year, Manu Nathan, and Woman of the Year Erin Zammett Ruddy. This accomplishment is one to be proud of.
VPV Interactive would also like to send a resounding congratulations to all candidates that participated in this year?s campaign. As the event?s tagline stated: ?Whoever wins, cancer loses,? and to see the dedication of this group was nothing short of amazing. A jaw-dropping combined total of $717,522 was raised by these 13 candidates in only 10 weeks!
I must say that my favorite part of the evening had to be the real reminder of why LLS is such an important organization, and that was the presence of the 2012 boys and girls of the year. These resilient?children reinforce that there is hope, and with continued efforts we can cure cancer once and for all.
It must be noted the incredible job the entire staff of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society did in putting this event together. They are a selfless bunch that deserve a tremendous thank you for all they do for such an important organization. Working first hand with them was a pleasure and an honor. Thanks again for being on the front lines in this battle against cancer.
Walking away from the event I left with the resounding messages of hope and?perseverance?ringing in my head. As Man of the Year runner up,?oncologist?Dr. Paul Hamlin, put it, we cannot stop fighting until we put him out of a job.
Thanks again to everyone from LLS that made the night such a success, and to all of the candidates and those that are helping to take us one step closer to defeating that wretched cancer!
