Is it too early to start applying for Summer 2013 Internships ...

Just a little background about me first:
- Expected Graduation: 2014 with a B.Math in Actuarial Science.
- GPA is not impressive (
- Passed P in Sept 2012, Sitting for FM in Feb 2013, MFE July 2013 (if pass FM)
- No actuarial experience
- One summer position (2010) in a small business (no real responsibilities)

1) Is it too early (or even late) to start applying for Summer 2013 Internships?

2) Should I start applying now (with only P) or in Feb when I'll (hopefully) have P and FM under my belt? If I apply now, can I reapply in Feb if I pass FM?

3) I would be looking in the Toronto region. I don't mind relocating, what chances do I have across Canada/in the U.S. compared to Toronto?

4) Most firms don't have specific listings for internships. Should I just find e-mails of managers and e-mail them my cover letter/resume?

5) How do the number of actuarial internships differ from Summer as opposed to Fall or Winter? Should I put all my effort into Summer or is there hope to find one for Fall/Winter as well?

6) Should I use my university or gmail e-mail address?

Thank you for your time AO.
