The Sony XPERIA Tipo is a recently released handset from Sony which delivers impressive levels of technology performance into the palm of the user. The handset features an 800 MHz processor combined with the ice cream sandwich version of the android operating system, version 4.0.3. All of this is contained within a unit which measures 103 mm x 57 mm wide whilst being 13 mm thick and weighing 99 g in weight.
The unit comes with a 3.2 inch TFT capacitive display screen which comes with multi-touch touch screen capability in addition to the ability to display up to 256,000 colours within a pixel screen resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. Scratch resistant glass is provided which offers durability as and when required, whilst accelerometer and proximity sensors provide automation of various services.
The handset comes with Internet access through its own 3G connection with speeds of up to 7.2 MB available or the alternative of accessing available Wi Fi services to its Wi Fi connection. In addition for those who of additional devices that require Internet access the unit offers the option of creating a Wi Fi hotspot. In addition the handset comes with Micro USB and Bluetooth connectivity as well as a Micro SD card slot which offers the opportunity to increase the memory capacity of the unit up to 32 GB from its internal 2.9 GB.
In terms of functionality the unit comes with a wide range of functions which include a snapshot style 3.15 megapixel camera, which not only takes effective still imagery but also offers VGA quality video recording, in addition a stereo FM radio is provided as is satellite navigation which benefit from A-GPS support. The unit also offers SNS integration, and organiser, document viewer as well as a multimedia player the actively plays a wide range of file formats.
