I first tried out Fitness First Personal Trainer for the Wii by rented it for a few weeks. After that time, it seemed to be the sort of thing I was looking for. What I liked was it didn?t need any special equipment, and the workouts were quick and easy to do.
Therefore, I decided to invest in the product. Unfortunately, my saved data did not transfer across when I inserted the new disc. This was a little bit puzzling at the time, because I always thought the data was saved on the hard drive. But it appears it is somehow linked to the individual game disc.
So, I had to start again by entering all my crucial information, setting my goals and targets, and selecting my style of workout. This information generally remained the same, as I was happy with the program I was previously on.
For the first few weeks, things pretty much stayed the same as they were. In truth, this is probably the way it stays if you play the game relatively infrequently. However, it is fairly clear that the game is designed to be used on a daily basis.
The fundamental problem with this, though, is the more you use it, the harder it gets. In a way this makes sense, because the game is allowing those that are serious to receive the maximum benefits. And any personal trainer would recommend changing your workouts every so often to continue to see results.
But the problem is that Fitness First Personal Trainer does not offer any indication that this is about to happen. Yes, I want a challenging workout that will bring results, but I also only have a limiting amount of time.
Working from home brings various benefits, but it does mean that my place of rest, sleep, and work are all at the same location. Therefore, I do find myself working throughout the day, afternoon, evening, and night.
Those who work elsewhere often come home to rest, but those of us that continue to work need a workout solution, which produces results, but is also time efficient. This is because we are often taking a break from our work, rather than doing it after work.
Moving forward I will have to decide if Fitness First Personal Trainer is the best solution. Fortunately, the game does make some accommodations for those with limited time. First of all, the intense, lengthy workouts only seem to happen every other day.
Then, there is the option of express workouts that are supposed to be the same as the full workouts but have less reps, so can be completed in a shorter time. Clearly, in theory, this is a good idea, but the problem is it makes you feel that you?re not completing a proper workout.
The reality of the situation is my workout last about 10-15 minutes on one day, and the next day can last up to an hour and a half. Therefore, due to time constraints, I may be forced to use the express workouts at least some of the time.
