6 Steps to Succeed at Change - TROVA Business Network

6 Steps to Succeed at Change:

by Dawn Billings, CEO and Founder of Heart to Heart Media, Find Success, TROVA Business Network and The Heart Link Network, women networking.

The new world is characterized by ?relentless change.? Technology and social media have changed and shifted how we send and communicate information, tell stories, make meaning and create relationship, as well as how we share and receive information. So how do we keep up with relentless change? We must commit to staying ahead of trends and innovation. Here are my 6 steps to help you succeed at change.

1. Becoming as relevant and current as you can. Upgrade your skills. Take classes, both online and in person. Invest in career, success or business coaching. Keep up with the newest revelations in your industry, market, state, country, and world. This is a huge challenge I realize. Some great resources that can help you are www.hubspot.com, www.socialmediaexaminer.com,? www.trendwatching.com, www.mashable.com, and www.quintcareers.com.

2. Clearly define your ?UCB?: UNIQUE CORE BRAND. Each one of us is the sum total of our DNA skills, work skills and personal or intangible skills and past experience. All the jobs we have had count toward forming our unique core brand. What do you love? What makes you excited? Are you better at numbers and charts, or words and creative ideas? Maybe you have a little of both? Each of us is a unique core brand and has a unique essence that motivates us. Finding our passions,? key skills and rethinking how we can adapt and apply all of it, so we leap out of bed each day excited to be alive and use the best of what we have to give is where our career and personal happiness will be found.

3. Expand other people?s knowledge of your ?UCB? with self promotion and networking both online and in person. Find the social platform that is the most fun, best suited for you and most practical to advance your career goals. Learn the rules of engagement, promote others and add value to people?s lives. Find a business networking outlet that best fits your personality and needs. For example if you are a woman, and love to network with other professional women check out The Heart Link Network. The Heart Link Network has over 170 locations in the U.S., Canada and Australia to serve women in intimate, safe, fun and effective ways. If you want to network with men and women but also want online advertising and a professional think tank to be a part of your membership, check out TROVA Business Network. It ion a 3-pronged marketing strategy that combines, professional networking, a professional think-tank AND online advertising for the small business professional.

LinkedIn and Twitter can be huge connectors and door openers. Facebook and YouTube can be environments to express your persona and get more personal to your community. Blend your online and offline activities and GET up, GET out and GET connected. Meeting people online is the bridge to that phone call or in person meeting where that NEXT LEAD, CONNECTION OR CUSTOMER WILL COME FROM.

4. Develop your perseverance and resilience. These are always challenging times. It is never how many times we fail or fall in life, but always how quickly we get up and try again. Real success is built on failure. If you do not develop perseverance and that ?keep on, Keeping on? spirit, your dreams of success can fall short, simply because you fell and didn?t get back up.

5. Make SMART Goals, stay focused on your daily and weekly plan, build great habits, have accountability partners and use a support system. Stay in the action and ?do-er? mode. Those who set goals and write them down and set time limits on their actions, succeed much ore often than those that do not. Write down what you want and what you are willing to do to get it. When you believe you can succeed you will.

6. Continue to refine your success process. Dealing with change successfully requires that we develop systems, processes and habits that lead us in the direction of our dreams. These processes, habits and systems need to be reviewed, refined and tweaked regularly. Self evaluation combined with action is a potent and powerful formula!

EmPOWERer yourself daily to believe you can succeed.

Understand that everything you need is already inside of you, but it is up to you to mine and refine it.
